Late Spring
Late Spring. The pale shy tender blooms of early spring pastel colours, soft tints hide themselves, as though they cannot stand the growing warmth of approaching summer. Bolder blooms peek their heads vibrantly carmine, fuschia, indigo and saffron. Ixoras, bouganvilliea, marigolds and geraniums a multitude of vividness devours the landscape. Welcoming the heat. They canContinue reading “Late Spring”
Haibun: Half-moon
Half-moon. The eighth day in the lunar calendar. When the moon is a semicircle it is almost unreadable. It lies suspended in the middle of the sky enclosed in an air of mystery. I do not mind the night with a half-moon. A perfect setting for a paranormal mystery or a forbidden romance. A facetContinue reading “Haibun: Half-moon”

Thanks ❤️
I wondered if I should plan something spectacular for the last prompt of Just Jot it January. Then, I realised that I don’t need to write something that will make Shakespeare keel over as he tries to deduce my prosody. All I am writing right now… is a gratitude post. I was very glad toContinue reading “Thanks ❤️”

Amenities do make life a tad easier. We have so many conveniences at our disposal. Whether it be inContinue reading “Amenity Insanity #JusJoJan2023”
In the spirit of resolutions…
A new year means a new resolution. Many among us manage to keep or break them. I tried making a few original resolutions this year. I could find none to make! How did new year resolutions start anyway? Babylonians were one of the first to make new year resolutions. They believed that if they stuckContinue reading “In the spirit of resolutions…”
Twenty Twenty Three
The first day of the new year sparkles like the dew on fresh grass in the morning sun Hi all, this is a gratitude/reflection post on the past year. 2022 was an okay year. When we think of past years we do not think of the negative moments, we focus on the ones that gaveContinue reading “Twenty Twenty Three”
Dusting off… anew
Hi, I’m back. You may have not heard of me since the past six months but here I am again. Life can change so much in a few months. When I started I lived in a different state, today I’m in a new place with the people I love. New people, new surroundings it takesContinue reading “Dusting off… anew”
Rain and Sun
After days of rain there’s a patch of sunlight on my balcony. A jet plane shoots ahead leaving a white trail in the sky, dividing it into two. Clothes don’t dry in the rain, if they do, they leave a mildewing smell, which makes me not want to wear them.
