Nothing bothers me.
I repeat the phrase over again as the rain cascasdes over me.
I dreamed of touching the clouds, soft and fluffly. Angelic. However, today the weather has shown its wicked side. Thunder and lightning crack havoc and I am caught between.
This is the closest to god I’ll ever be.
The clouds as grey as the grief I carry embrace me. I return this deadly embrace soaked to the bone. It gives me a sense of power, that there is something in the world deadlier than grief and pain. The storm inside me is puny compared to its wrath.
In space in time I sit thousands of feet above the sea. Under me the sea is fierce monster, a kraken that breaches the shores. If I fall it will swallow me. I mediate on the storm.
Nothing bothers me.
Written for dVerse’s Prosery: Meditation. Prose upto or exactly 144 words. The prompt was as below:
“In space in time I sit thousands of feet above the sea”
From May Sarton, “Meditation in Sunlight”
While somewhat inspired by the pieces I read beforehand…I tried to make it cohesive by adding some form of meditation. Purging grief is important, dealing with trauma is important…before the rainbows appear in one’s life. That’s my perspective of meditation.
Thanks for reading 💕
Nature makes us individuals seem so small in comparison. I love how you brought this aspect out.

Beautiful language and imagery. Witnessing nature does tend to put things in perspective, even grief. Thank you for writing to the prompt!
