I’ll Follow You

I’ll follow you
through the streets of London
the umbrella alleys
scarlet, crimson and coral
suspended in the open sky
my vermillion laced up
converse tapping after you
rivalling the bright hues
of the liveliest streets

I’ll follow you
through the cityscapes of Tokyo
dazzling neon blues
pale against your eyes
the oceans expanse shies
from the certainty of your gaze
the brightening horizon
reveals the depth that you hide
more profound than my prosody

I’ll follow you
traipsing through the maps
uncertain; uncharted
my footsteps a dashed line
while you lie like a dot
that marks my destination
trekking off the map
off the edge of civilization
I follow the path you lay
unwavering.

A love poem for this Sunday. I am unhappy the weekend is over so soon. I’m back to my main city for the time being, my schedule has overturned itself. Apologies if I come across as morose. It is humid, dull and uninspiring during this heatwave (36 to 34 degrees celsius!)

I am trying to keep my spirit alive, reading your works does wonders.
Thanks for reading 💕
How was your weekend?
