Hello! I’ve decided to join in on Just Jot it January/Stream of Consciousness Saturday (SoCS) hosted by Linda G. Hill. Today’s prompt is “throw in the towel”.

Does one wage a war 
for the sake of serenity?
Over the mental roar
enduring insanity? 

Insecurites claw out 
from the subliminal 
Give up, give in to the doubt 
a condemning critical

Despite their persistence 
I won’t throw in the towel
I put up a resistance 
To the bullying most foul 

The midnight enemy lies abed
Intrusive thoughts wag within my head

I reckon this is the first ever sonnet I have written (or tried to?). Intrusive throughts are tough to defeat but I try! I hope your days have been going well 💕
