Perfectionism in the mirror
I fix all my flaws 
the rage I bottle 
the sorrow I absorb 
burgeoning inside 

I iron out all my faults 
under the press of scorn
freshly starched 
no creases show 
foibles are unseen 

I gaze into the mirror
at an immaculate ideal
of who I should be 
a nebulous goal 
unfeeling; I must reach 

Fashioned origami 
a paper doll 
folded epitome 
this is not me 
this is not me
